Blackguards 2 isn't running properly on Mac OSX 10.11. Throwing weapons, arrows) is refilled automatically upon completion of the battle. For Crone Hellebrond, can I use executioners instead of blackguards for my army's front line and still be effective for the final battle? Crone Hellebrond gets a lot of melee defense buffs, in addition to upkeep discounts, for executioners so I’d like to use em.
No.The writers actually gave subtle clues.First, Cassia manufactured the signs for the Silent Legion (dialogue when you talk to her teachers at camp, final arena dialogue).Second, there is no cure for Corapia poison (dialogue with Niobe).Third, when Cassia falls ill, the potion she has Niobe conconct isn't a cure but a Blood Potion, which she then gives to the Silent Legion (which is why people comment why they need so much ingredients, final arena dialogue).Fourth, Cassia really intended to rule for just one day, and taking the Silent Legion with her. I didn't understood the Silent Legion thing, relatively soon in the game, the leader or a legion man kill a dog and then Cassia says she has decided to kill the legion. It's just for the dog? It felt not well build.Because of a bug in final battle never ending I never got the end but through this post lol.During the game I really believed you had a choice between death and madness, it's a bit disapointing there's none.Looks like all this garbage is just to kill the legion but the story doesn't provide a good reason for that.
Overall it's a fairly good story and a good writing but that end isn't well done, it makes look the story as not well build and not credible.EDIT: And why bother reign one day? It really make no sense, if really her goal was to kill the legion, once she poinsend them she just had to die, it's not working.
Too bad because beside incoherent elements it's good writting, but the incohency will cancel the quality. I played really the end that is I did the end battle once more but took care that no enemy get petrified.Only Mirai and Nurim survived, I suppose the mage died because I push him to link with Niobe.Play really the end is quite different than just read the posts of this thread. I don't like much sad ending but that one is quite ok and touching.
After get the end bug I put a thumb down review but now I don't have the heart to let it and will remove it. Sad end is easy trick but it's well done with a good mix of emotion and lightness, it's just missing few bits of humor, but ok.For the fate of the Legion, it's not matching well a good Cassia because the dog part is weird.I don't agree with your explanation, it fits better that she just wanted kill the entire legion. The dog part is supposed to give the reason, that they are purely cruel.
But it's a bit weird, but I think that's the point of writers. For the one day reign, in context of the good Cassia, then end pinpoints she free the town and eventually Mirai more or less. That's a better explanation and ok it fits overall. Ok so it's dialogs with Nurim the cause not Zubaran.
But what is the exact reason? I remember a dialog with Nurim about Zubaran traitor but not really its contents and why.I whish the game had mods and someone made nice mod allowing save Cassia.:-) I know all the point is this easy trick (well exploited) but still, it's RPG not passive reading. For me what would have work very well is a rather hidden cause far in past of the end and allowing save her. So you had a movitation for an eventual replay, you had the sad end at first play and the refreshing rescue at replay. Instead of playing some psychotic murderer to change at replay. When RPG will learn good/evil choices aren't that much choice.
During 3 turns I got 2 characters constantly stunned (petrifier) lol. In my 4/5 previous attempt I avoided it but well it's not that easy to predict.I was trying avoid the pretrifier but I suppose it's best to fix in with the dwarf in center of arena. The dwarf with attract some enemies that eventually will be cought by the petrifier. My patience is lowering and yeah I lost any confidence in design of this game and it doesn't help, eventually this is a good combat but I'm expecting another crap so it's hard to concentrate on it.I just need count and I'm totally overpowered, no Takana, crap mercenaries, and two times more enemies including some rather nasty and in all the garbage AOE spells are impossible to cast. Sigh, ok let try one more time the crap and thanks the game will be behind me.I'm very sad to see this series evolve to that. It's not even a bad game just sometime exasperating. Game does not allow me to kill already petrified Faramud bc he is immune to All Attack Spells and Posion when you highlight the pointer over Faramud no percentage is marked just the red haze signifying you cannot target him.The Marwan is still alive and just runs around doing nothing and everyone of my side is poisoned so they just keeping going down in health and I just keep healing them.
It never stops. Just continues on forever. Bc one enemy is still in battle. Strange I had Adamant paralyzed and killed the Sand Ghost and it ended but not this last battle.I finally gave up trying to save Mirai and just killed Marwan. Yep sister is dead. I had a bad ending anyway. Didn't have enough gold even without paying Naurim, Zurbaran, spy or other guy.
Build all the buildings and held banquests. Still people feared me. Although it was probably bc I was I pillaged all town. But still wanted to save sister. Sad way to end game.
This bug with petrified Faramud preventing the battle from ending until you 'incapacitate' Marwan is still in the game. I tried paralyzing Marwan, since other battles end when the only remaining chars are paralyzed, but it didn't help. Pretty disappointing how horribly this last battle was QA'ed, I didn't have any such problems anywhere in the rest of the game, but found two serious ones right at the ending (Petrifier's Sonic Blast causing freeze with a PC endlessly running anim at map's edge). Also, since I asked them not to kill Marwan, incapacitating him should have let me capture him alive. All my heroes can come back from that after all, so should he.A third curious situation I had is that one merc got completely cut off in the SW corner by collapsed columns!

Every column in that area fell down, and there were no routes back to the rest of the map. Since it was just a merc, and the battle was decided, it didn't matter much, but if that had been one of my melee heroes while the battle was still raging, I would have been pretty annoyed about that too.
